Celebrate
Life

Portugal has more than 900 km of coastline.

Beautiful beaches extend from one end of the country to the other. You can take a dip in the tranquil sea of the Algarve, or you can enjoy the beautiful beaches in the North and Centre, which are fantastic surfing destinations.

Thousands of years before the Portuguese borders were established, the land was already inhabited by various peoples who came and left and, as they did so, they left behind their historical heritage that is clearly visible even today.

Thus, a simple trip through the country reveals all the remnants they left behind, in the form of rock paintings, ruins that have been excavated, monuments that have been built, or simply the architecture, traditions and customs that each place has to offer.

But Portugal does not just live in the past. There are increasingly modern and interesting spaces to visit and discover. Examples of these are the modern Casa da Música (House of Music) in Porto, or the recently built MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology) in Lisbon.

Here, almost every day, friends and family gather around the table to enjoy each other’s company and taste an abundance of rich food and the best wines. Portugal is also ranked as the country with the second best capacity to integrate migrants. (Migrant Integration Policy Index.)

Peaceful and safe, Portugal is ranked in 5th place among the world’s most peaceful countries. (Global Peace Index 2016).

Enjoying Nature

Portugal is a small country; however, it has a vast diversity of scenery: natural parks, hills, mountains, plains, beaches and rivers. It is as if nature wanted to show off all its forms in a space of a little more than 92 thousand square kilometers.

All you need to do is choose where you want to go. Here, every weekend can be an outdoor adventure.

Celebrate life (night)

The Portuguese population may be aging a bit, but its spirit is getting younger. From the variety of typical taverns that can be found to gourmet restaurants; from Fado (traditional folk music) houses to pop music festivals; from street dances on traditional and/or religious festivals to lively nightclubs open until dawn, Portuguese people know how to enjoy themselves. They also enjoy welcoming others into the fold and making sure they too have fun.
